How to use Visio 2007 shapes for process modeling
Microsoft Visio has long been standard software when it comes to creating diagrams and drawings. With its many ready-made shapes and diagram types, Visio offers great advantages for conceptual work in particular. With the release of Office 2007, the new Visio 2007 was also introduced.
The first impression is consistently positive. One option that I really like is the different design colors. This allows the colors of the shapes used in the model to be changed with a single click. For example, the CI colors of the company can be stored in such a design scheme, which in turn can then be assigned to the diagrams created. The graphics then look much more professional.
The actual modeling is also easier in Visio 2007. Connectors, such as those used in classic process modeling using the EPC method, can be inserted automatically with a single click. A complete list of the new features can be found in the Visio Online Help.
EPK Shapes for Visio 2007
The actual file format has not been changed in Visio 2007. It is therefore basically possible to use the EPK shapes for process modeling that were created for Visio 2002/03 in Visio 2007. However, the design, as described above, cannot be easily adapted. For this reason, I have optimized our popular EPK shapes for Visio 2007.
Of course, the shapes can be downloaded for free right here on the doubleSlash blog.

Hello Sebastian,
the shapes could certainly do with an update, also in terms of colors.
Nevertheless, have fun with it.
Thanks for the great shapes! I'll get to work on the colors right away!
Just found the article. Thank you very much. Great work!
